This is how it works....

We operate an off-site storage facility for the user's data. At the facility, an account is maintained for each user. Each account is protected by a password known only to the user.

The Remote Backup System is set up so that at a preset time, usually late at night, the clients computer automatically wakes up and prepares its data for backup. It determines which files have been modified since the last backup, compresses them, encrypts them for security. When the data is ready the computer uses its modem or Internet connection to contact our Servers and transmit the data, where it is verified and stored.

  6. The backup server is monitored to make sure the backups are performed properly.

We’re Paranoid About YOUR Data!

When you use the appcomm, inc. Remote Backup System, we take extreme measures to ensure the safety of your critical business information.

Your encrypted data is received by our Remote Backup Server and stored on a RAID drive configuration (data is written to two separate drives).

The drives holding your data are constantly monitored for temperature and power levels.  Even the speed of cooling fans are tracked to to ensure the system is operating properly. 

The appcomm, inc. Remote Backup Server is further protected from power interruption by a UPS battery backup and a standby power generator.

On a rotational basis, a copy of client data is made to yet another external storage device and stored in a fire-safe designed specifically to protect electronic storage media.
